Ten Years Ago Today, I Met My Queen

There are some moments that don’t just change your life—they define it.

For me, that moment was ten years ago this Tuesday.

That’s the day I met Sara Beth.

I didn’t know what to expect when I showed up that day, but the second I saw her—really saw her—something in me shifted. It was like time slowed down and the noise of the world faded out. The way she smiled, the energy she carried, the realness in her spirit—I felt it in my bones. That wasn’t just attraction. That was recognition.

We connected instantly. It was undeniable.

But life doesn’t always let love bloom right away. Timing wasn’t on our side back then, and we had to walk our own separate paths for a while. But through all the years, changes, and chapters—we never forgot. The way she made me feel that day? I carried that with me.

That’s why I wrote Thing for You. That song tells the story of a man who met the one his soul recognized, long before the world was ready for them to be together. It’s my truth. Our truth. And even when we were apart, I knew in my heart that the story wasn’t over.

And sure enough—God brought us back together in His time, not ours.

Now, I get to wake up every day beside my best friend, my partner, my biggest supporter, my wife. She’s the woman behind the scenes, the heart behind Smolicious, and the Queen who helps me live this life with purpose.

So today, I just want to say this:

Sara Beth, thank you for seeing me before the world did. Thank you for loving me through the years, across the miles, and through every twist in the road. Thank you for being the answer to a prayer I didn’t even know how to pray back then.

Ten years ago, I met the love of my life.
