We stopped in Cushing, Oklahoma for the Freedom Fest. It was the first stop on our journey in Oklahoma. We had a blast! We went back to Cushing again for a meeting and a hang with our friends, and headed back out on the road. On the day we left Edmond, OK to head to Pawhuska to see the Pioneer Woman, the water pump on the 4-Runner went out and we were stuck on the side of the highway only twenty minutes from....you guessed it! CUSHING!
We had a great time! Karaoke, a jam sesh, and even VEGAN chef SMO!
If you're ever out in Cushing, Oklahoma, you MUST go to the Peacock Rouxm. Honestly if you're anywhere out west and can make a special trip, you won't be disappointed. It's a Cajun restaurant with a music venue, 'The Jook Joint'. Perfect southern fare with an impressive musical ambience- you won't be disappointed. This spot is a real treasure. We were fortunate enough to get to know Fred and Megan, the owners. We cannot thank them enough for the kindness and generosity shown to us!
Be sure to check them out and tell them SMO and SB sent you!
