Momma Smo's Banana Bread Overnight Oats

Hey there, Kinfoke! SB is basically oats gone wild. I can’t get her to stop. Now she’s gone through Momma Smo’s Cookbook and gotten inspired. Today we have MOMMA SMO’s Banana Bread Overnight Oats. My mama loved fruit, especially in her dessert! Old bananas in our house found their way into the form of a delicious warm and sweet bread. SB found a way to turn that same happy flavor that reminds me of mama into a tasty healthy overnight oats recipe for you.

We have found oats are an excellent way to fuel for our workouts. Overnight oats are easy because they require no cooking, very little prep, and you can create so many flavors.

Banana Bread Overnight Oats are the perfect way to get a good dose of potassium in your breakfast. Bananas add sweetness as well as a gooey cakey texture. Mix your gluten free oats with bananas, raisins, shredded coconut, water, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Try other add-ins like hemp seeds, hemp butter, sunflower or pumpkin seeds. To make it really like Momma Smo’s Banana Bread, throw in some chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts. You just mix it in!

Adjust your ingredients depending on your needs. SB and I typically have the suggested serving of oats plus all the toppings, but make yours depending on your caloric requirements. Overnight oats are great for breakfast or even a meal on the go. We love to take our oats with us when we aren’t sure if we are going to have a healthy option. Throw them in a lunchbox with an ice pack and they ride great! Don’t forget the spoon!
